Our excellent 0.57 EMR rating did not happen by chance. It is the direct consequence of Portico’s corporate culture of safety that encompasses each of our employees, our subcontractors and the public at large. This culture includes risk assessments, rigorously defined safety procedures, communication policy and ongoing safety training in areas such as record keeping, hazard analysis and hazard abatement.

On each construction job site, the project manager and site superintendent are accountable to the President for achieving Portico’s safety and health objectives and measurable goals. Part of a manager’s yearly evaluation considers the degree in which safety and health goals were achieved on the job site he or she supervised.
